William Joseph Farmer, 88, died Jan. 9, 2013, at Sebastian River Medical Center, Roseland.
He was born in Iowa Park, Texas, and lived in Sebastian for 21 years, coming from Elgin, Ill.
He served in the Army. He was a retired firefighter for the city of Elgin, Ill.
He was a member of the Roseland United Methodist Church, Roseland.
He was a member of the American Legion and Moose Lodge, both in Sebastian.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years; Phyllis Farmer, of Sebastian; sons, Michael Farmer, of St. Charles, Ill., and Jeffrey Farmer, of Palm Springs, Calif.; daughter, Diane Bales, of San Diego; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
