Edythe J. Laughead-Ritter, 84, died Jan. 9, 2013, at VNA Hospice House, Vero Beach.
She was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and lived in Sebastian for 25 years, coming from Bethlehem, Pa.
She was retired from Reiss Knitwear, Allentown, Pa.
She was a member of St. Elizabeth’s Episcopal Church, Sebastian, where she served as a member of the choir and ECW.
She was a volunteer for VNA hospice and Council on Aging in Vero Beach; was active in the Navy Armed Guard Merchant Marine, Fellsmere; and entertained at Nursing Homes and Assisted Living facilities in Indian River County.
Survivors include her children, Edythe J. Clemons, of Vero Beach, Jo-Anne Williams and Joseph Laughead Jr., of Hellertown, Pa.; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph T. Laughead Sr.

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Jan. 14 at the Fountainhead Funeral Home.
Interment will follow in the Fountainhead Memorial Cemetery.
At a later date there will be a celebration of life service with communion at St. Elizabeth’s, Sebastian.
