INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — The Education Foundation of Indian River County is seeking judges and sponsors for the upcoming Indian River Regional Science & Engineering Fair (IRRSEF) on Saturday, Feb. 2, at Gifford Middle School.
Volunteers are needed to judge elementary (K-5) and secondary division (6–12) projects.
Elementary judges need to have an understanding of the scientific method and the ability to hear soft voices. Secondary judges need to have a degree or related work experience in science and engineering.

More than 200 educational enthusiasts volunteer during the fair weekend to plan, organize, and judge the IRRSEF. This one of a kind academic event has become one of the most successful science fairs in the State of Florida due to the tremendous support of the community.
The public is encouraged to attend the public viewing the day of the fair from 11 a.m. to Noon (secondary projects) and 11:45 a.m.–12:45 p.m. (elementary projects.)
More than 600 children will compete for over one million dollars in academic awards, cash prizes, and college scholarships. This year’s major sponsors are: George E. Warren Corporation, Syngenta, Quail Valley Charities, Piper Aircraft Corporation, and Wells Fargo.
College scholarships will be offered by Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Florida Institute of Technology, and Indian River State College.
