Glenn Amos Wild, 82, Vero Beach

Glenn Amos Wild, 82, died Jan. 3, 2013, at the VNA/Hospice House in Vero Beach.

He was born in Ashland, Ky., and lived in Vero Beach for 44 years, coming from Washington, D.C.

He played for Wallace Wade at Duke University.

He was an Army veteran.

He started his coaching career at Kiski Prep School in Saltsburg, Pa.

He was athletic director and coached football, basketball and baseball at St. Albans School in Washington, D.C.

He continued coaching and teaching in Vero Beach until his retirement in 1989.

Survivors include his sons, Judge Joe Wild, of Vero Beach and Steven Wild, of Sebastian; daughter, Jodi Manning, of Deland; and eight grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to VNA Hospice House, 1110 35th Lane, Vero Beach, FL 32960.

Visitation will be at 3 p.m., with a memorial service at 4 p.m. Jan. 8 at the Vero Beach Church of Christ in Vero Beach.

A reception will follow the service.
