SEBASTIAN — A skydiver was hurt and taken to a trauma center after making a hard landing at an airport, police said. Emergency services officials went to the scene about 4:30 p.m. Sunday at the Sebastian Municipal Airport, 202 Airport Drive East. The skydiver, a man from Brazil, "made a hard landing" and "was unable to walk," said police spokesman Commander John Blackledge. The man landed near Gate 21, which is near the north end of the airport near Roseland Road, Blackledge said. Fire rescue crews took the man to Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne. His condition and the cause of the hard landing were not immediately available. This story will be updated.
