James H. “Jim” Downs, 75, died Jan. 2, 2013, at Grace Healthcare, Vero Beach.
He was born in Davenport, Iowa, and lived in Sebastian for six years, coming from Port St. Lucie.
He was a superintendent with the Caterpillar Equipment Co., Davenport, for more than 30 years.
He was a member of the Southeast Rods and Customs, Renegade Cruisers, Grand Prix Chapter and GMC Truck Chapter.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Patricia Downs, of Sebastian; sons, James E. Downs, of Davenport, Brian Downs, of Summerville, S.C.; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Jan. 6 at Strunk Funeral Home, Sebastian.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Jan. 7 at the funeral home chapel.
Interment will be in Sebastian Cemetery.
