Avis L. Brantley, 72, Vero Beach

Avis L. Brantley, 72, died Jan. 1, 2013, at Indian River Medical Center, Vero Beach.

She was born in Lorain, Ohio, and lived in Vero Beach for 35 years, coming from Fort Pierce.

She was the station manager at the Greyhound Bus Line Station in Vero Beach before her retirement.

Survivors include her daughters, Laura Allen, of Sevierville, Tenn., and Betty Choate, of Townsend, Tenn.; sons, Thomas Alten, Gilbert Alten and Christopher Wyrick, all of Vero Beach; sister, Ramona Kay Staser; brother, Stan Keach, both of Indiana; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Brantley; and daughter, Tammy Alten.

Memorial contributions may be made to Aftercare Nursing Service, 1705 14th Ave., Vero Beach, FL 32960.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Jan. 4 at the Strunk Funeral Home, Vero Beach.

A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Jan. 5 at Winter Beach Cemetery, Winter Beach.
