Victor Lavern Tupper, 79, Sebastian

Victor Lavern Tupper, 79, died Jan. 2, 2013, at home.

He was born in Sherman Township, Mich., and lived in Sebastian since 1982, coming from Hollywood.

He was an Army veteran, having served during the Korean War.

He retired as district manager from BellSouth Telephone Co. after 30 years of service and later worked as a security guard for Grand Harbor, Vero Beach.

He was of the Baptist Faith. He was a member of the American National Cribbage Club and the Sebastian Cribbage Club.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Lois Tupper, of Sebastian; sons, Kenneth Tupper, of Peach Tree City, Ga., and Gary Tupper, of Washington, D.C.; daughters, Lisa Marckel, of Vero Beach and Karen Diaz, of Minneapolis; sisters, June Ingalls and Claudine Ross; brother, Harvey Tupper; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his sisters, Mary Thocker, Donna Sickles, Margaret Smith and Evelyn Campbell; and brother, Harold Tupper.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Senior Activity Center of Sebastian.

Checks should be made payable to the city of Sebastian and sent to the City Clerk, 1225 Main St., Sebastian, FL 32958.

Please note in the memo line that the donation is for the senior center.

A memorial service will be Jan. 6 at 3 p.m. at Thomas S. Lowther Funeral Home, Vero Beach.
