VERO BEACH — The Willow School proudly announces that it has received full accreditation by Advanc-Ed, the largest accrediting agency in the world and the parent organization encompassing the Southern Association of Colleges & Schools (SACS,) the Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement (CASI,) the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement (NCA CASI,) and the Northwest Accreditation Commission (NWAC.)
The Willow School, a Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 8 school, first opened in 2004.
“Accreditation has been a goal of ours for many years. It is really exciting that we have completed this process with such success and with a well established and respected accrediting organization,” explained Gina Battle, a former parent and board member since 2006.
As part of the accreditation process, Willow hosted the accrediting team this past April. The group was comprised of professionals from Advanc-Ed who came to verify the legitimacy of the school’s program.
“The team was clearly impressed with the school’s program and professionalism,” replied Willow parent Lee Dinenberg of Flex Fitness in Vero Beach.
Over the three days, the team visited the school and observed the classrooms. They read through reams of documents and interviewed over 30 people. They met with all Willow staff; the leadership team, teachers, and support staff.
They interviewed 10 students ranging from grades 3 through 8. Additionally, they spoke with a dozen parents as well as the school’s board members. They also heard from community members such as Lisa Desmond from the Rotary Club with whom Willow has a relationship.
Willow was found to meet or exceed all the requirements for accreditation. The school is honored to be in the company of other Vero Beach schools such as the Indian River Charter High School as well as thousands of schools both nationwide and abroad.
The Willow School provides a cutting edge curriculum to children in Preschool through Grade 8. Graduates from the school consistently demonstrate high academic achievement and leadership skills.
