STC receives Top-Rated Non-Profit award

VERO BEACH — Sea Turtle Conservancy has been honored with a prestigious 2012 Top-Rated award by GreatNonprofits, a leading provider of user reviews about nonprofit organizations.

“We are excited to be named a Top-Rated 2012 Nonprofit. We are proud of our accomplishments this year, including our efforts to retrofit properties in Florida with sea turtle-friendly lights and the expansion of our leatherback conservation program in Panama,” said David Godfrey, Sea Turtle Conservancy Executive Director.

The Top-Rated Nonprofit award was based on the large number of positive reviews that Sea Turtle Conservancy received; reviews written by volunteers, donors, and clients.

People posted their personal experience with the nonprofit.

“This is a truly worthy non-profit, both of my time and my money. The STC is staffed by dedicated, intelligent, thoughtful people, and the volunteer experience has been one of the most important experiences of my life,” one volunteer wrote.

Being on the Top-Rated list comes at an important time of the year, as donors look for causes to support during the holiday season. The reviews by volunteers, donors, and other supporters show on-the-ground results and are a form of recognition by the community.

“We are gratified by Sea Turtle Conservancy for its work. They deserve to be discovered by more donors and volunteers who are looking for a great nonprofit to support,” said Perla Ni, CEO of GreatNonprofits.

Thank you to all of our donors who have supported sea turtle conservation and to those who helped us receive this award by reviewing us on GreatNonprofits.
