Violia M. Allen, 87, died Dec. 13, 2012, at Indian River Medical Center, Vero Beach.
She was born in Dwight, Ill., and lived in Vero Beach for 20 years, coming from Odell, Ill.
She was a graduate of Odell Community High School.
She worked for the United States Postal Service for more than 20 years, retiring as postmaster of Odell.
She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church, Vero Beach.
Survivors include her sons, Tom Coriell of Wichita, Kan., Terry Coriell of Port St. Lucie, and Bob Porth of Hoopston, Ill.; sister, Dorothy Mulhall of Dayton, Ohio; and six grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Del Allen.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Visiting Nurse Association and Hospice Foundation, 1110 35th Lane, Vero Beach, FL 32960.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., with the funeral at 7 p.m. Dec. 19 at Strunk Funeral Home, Vero Beach.
Dr. Charles C. Lever will officiate.
Interment will be in Memorial Park in Odell.
