VERO BEACH — Big Brothers Big Sisters of Indian River County and Mulligan’s Beach House Bar and Grill will sponsor the sixth annual “Mistletoe & Margaritas” on Tuesday, Dec. 11.
The celebration will feature passed hors d’oeuvres and a fancy dessert buffet plus $2 beers and $4 margaritas from 5-8 p.m. Music will be provided by local artist M. J. Wicker.
The cost to join this popular holiday party is an unwrapped child’s Christmas gift valued at $15 or more. Gifts will be distributed to children being mentored by volunteers in the Big Brothers Big Sisters education programs offered throughout Indian River County.
If you don’t like shopping and haven’t a clue what to bring for a child’s gift, don’t worry. Just make a donation of at least $15, and you will be just as warmly welcomed.
Ever since the opening of Mulligan’s in Vero Beach, owner George Hart has held “Mistletoe & Margaritas” to help Big Brothers Big Sisters of Indian River County have a fabulous holiday party and enjoy the evening with friends, while at the same time make Christmas so much more meaningful for the over 400 children the organization serves.
“At Mulligan’s, we have the holiday spirit all year long. Our specialty is creating memories and wonderful celebrations, so we decided to do what we do best; throw a fantastic party, and at the same time help the kids in our community,” Hart explained.
And while the margaritas are legendary at Mulligan’s, just wait and see how they disguise the mistletoe.
“Even though we continue to serve more kids each year, the need continues to grow. We have so many children on our waiting list to be matched with a mentor,” said Judi Miller, CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters.
Mulligan’s is located at the end of Beachland Blvd. overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.

If you are not able to attend the party, you may also drop off gifts at Mulligan’s. For many children, these gifts will be the only Christmas present they receive.
