Edward Willis Mims, 76, died Nov. 28, 2012, in Vero Beach.
He was born in Cochran, Ga., and moved to Vero Beach more than 50 years ago from his birthplace.
He retired from the Army and later from Piper Aircraft in Vero Beach.
Survivors include his wife, Gladys Mims, of Vero Beach; son, Edward Mims Jr., of New Bronx, N.Y.; sisters, Catherine Taylor, of Patterson, N.J., and Johnnie Mae Stubbs, of Hillside, N.J.; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Memorial services with honors from the Army will be at 11 a.m. Dec. 7 at Church of God By Faith in Vero Beach, followed by cremation and interment at Florida National VA Cemetery in Lake Worth.
Arrangements are by Hortense/Mills in Vero Beach.
