IRMC Tree of Lights Ceremony Dec. 6

VERO BEACH — Please join Indian River Medical Center at the 22nd anniversary of the Auxiliary’s Tree of Lights ceremony Thursday, Dec. 6, at 6 p.m. on the hospital grounds.

Highlights include solo performer 13-year-old Gabrielle McFall, daughter of Megan McFall, R.N., clinical coordinator, IRMC’s Partners in Women’s Health program, and refreshments in the Ambulatory Services Center lobby following the tree lighting.

There is a new 25-foot holiday tree this year.

The Tree of Lights plays a dual role, as it heralds in the holidays while at the same time raises money for worthwhile projects through donations ranging from $5 to $500 toward a light for the tree.

Contributions can be made for a light in honor or in memory of a relative or friend.

For details, please call Mary Jane Stewart, director, Volunteer Services, at (772) 567-4311, ext. 1133.

“The money raised through the Tree of Lights is used to purchase necessary equipment and education programs that allow the Women’s Health Care team to continue to provide quality healthcare to the community,”  said Rebecca Boyer, RNC, BSN, manager, Women’s Health Care.

Past purchases include birthing beds, infant warmers, fetal monitors, apnea monitors, the overhead lullaby system, thermometers, otoscopes, opthalmoscopes, a bili blanket, jaundice meters, infant hearing screening equipment, and educational programs for nurses.

Winners of the hospital’s annual children’s holiday art contest will also be announced. All employees’, volunteers’, and doctors’ children ages 5-12 are eligible to enter. The public is welcome to view all contestants’ drawings on www.IRMC.cc beginning Dec. 7.
