Following the August death of 55-year-old Neal Stannard, radio station WTTB established the Neal Stannard Memorial Scholarship Fund to assist students seeking a career in theatre or radio. This is the second fundraiser since its inception.
Stannard was a writer ( Now & Then, the Movies Get It Right,) a film reviewer/columnist/editor for Vero’s Voice; an actor, board member of the Vero Beach Theatre Guild, a member of the Vero Beach UU Fellowship, and frequent speaker in Florida pulpits.
His 40 years in radio included memorable hours-long broadcasting stints during the 2004 and 2005 hurricanes, during which he kept listeners connected to problems and help.
Andrew has entertained in Theatre Guild productions of “It Runs in the Family” and “Leading Ladies” and won a Genie Award for his performance in Titanic, the Musical. He appeared onstage most recently in Hotbed Hotel.
The Dolls: Patti, Heather, and Dolores, have performed in many Treasure Coast venues, including concerts in the park, country clubs, churches, and others. They specialize in Golden Oldies from the 40s, 50s, 60s and 70s, and usually generate comments like “the best!” “marvelous!” and “sold out!”
The performance is open seating. Tickets can be purchased at the door.
The Guild is located at 2020 San Juan Ave., where Atlantic Blvd., 20th Ave., and 27th St. come together.
