Richard “Dick” H. Brown, 70, Vero Beach

Richard “Dick” H. Brown, 70, died Nov. 20, 2012, at his home.

He was a lifelong resident of Vero Beach.

He served two tours in the Vietnam War with the Army.

He was of the Baptist faith.

He was a 30-year nonpracticing alcoholic with AA, where he was a mentor.

He graduated from Vero Beach High School in 1960.

Survivors include his mother, Beulah Brown, of Vero Beach; sons, Adam Brown, of Palm City and Jay Brown, of Lake Worth; daughter, Helena Bence, of Sandy Lake, Pa.; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, John C. Brown; and sisters, Mary Ellen Brown and Charlotte Alzada Johnson.

Memorial contributions may be made to Alcoholics Anonymous, P.O. Box 1776, Vero Beach, FL 32961.

The funeral was Nov. 26 at Strunk Funeral Home in Vero Beach.
