Movie “The Life of Pi” to support local charities on Nov. 30

VERO BEACH — “The Leadership Project 588” is an all volunteer organization dedicated to providing service to and funding for Indian River County non-profits whose budgets are small.

Last year, The Source, Every Dream Has a Price, The Education Foundation, and SunUp were funded from “The Leadership Project 588.”

This foundation is hosting a movie night at The Majestic on Nov. 30 at 6 p.m.

This movie is about a 16 year old Indian boy whose passage to a new life in America aboard a freighter ends in a shipwreck in the Pacific Ocean. He is left to fend for himself on a life raft with an orangutan, hyena, and Bengal tiger.

This is not a children’s movie, so don’t bring the kids. But please come.

The cost to attend is $25, which includes ticket, popcorn, and soft drink.

There will also be a cash bar, the proceeds of which will be used to fund this year’s non-profit recipients.

The book had rave reviews.

Please contact Dennis Bartholomew for tickets or visit The Majestic’s website to reserve your seat.

This should be a fun evening. Hope to see you there.

Thank you for your support and for supporting the great work of all the non-profits in our community.
