VERO BEACH — Waldo’s Restaurant located on Ocean Dr. in Vero Beach will be hosting the 2nd annual Lauren’s Way Day of Thanksgiving on Saturday, Nov. 24, from 1-5 p.m.
Lauren Weaver will be at Waldo’s to accept donations from the community to benefit The Source and The Homeless Family Center.
Lauren will be collecting items to make 150 Christmas gift boxes for local homeless individuals.
Items needed are: rain ponchos, mosquito repellent (such as Deep Woods Off), men’s or women’s socks, large nail clippers, duct tape, mylar blankets (a.k.a emergency blankets), sunscreen, chapstick, first aid kits, toothbrush/paste, shampoo/conditioner, and soap.
For the non- perishable drive, items needed are: shelf stable milk, coffee, sugar, creamer, peanut butter/jelly, pasta/noodles, canned fruit and vegetables, canned fruit juices, cooking oil, spaghetti sauce, macaroni and cheese, baking mix, syrup, hot and cold breakfast cereals, soap (bar and liquid,) disposable diapers (all sizes,) laundry detergent, and hand sanitizer.
