Radiothon provides 50,000 Thanksgiving meals to needy families

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — On Thursday, Nov. 8, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., radio stations 93.7 The Breeze, 99.7 Jack FM, 97.1 Ocean FM, and Newsradio 1490 WTTB teamed up with Harvest Food and Outreach Center, The Estate, Trust & Elder Law Firm, and Wallace Chrysler Jeep Dodge & Ram to provide over 50,000 Thanksgiving meals to needy families on the Treasure Coast through donations from the one day 4th Annual Hunger Free Holiday Radiothon.

This year’s donations exceeded the goal of 30,000 meals and nearly doubled last year’s total.

All donations from the Hunger Free Holiday Radiothon will be donated to the Harvest Food & Outreach Center to help provide food and hope to those in need on the Treasure Coast of Florida.

The Harvest Food & Outreach Center, founded in 2003 by Austin and Ginny Hunt, provides food, crisis services and programs, and opportunities for education and employment to hungry families fighting to break the cycle of poverty.
