To find out what the scouts must learn in each subject, please go to www.ScoutmasterBucky.com and click on “Merit Badges Index Page” on the left, then click on the particular subject. It will tell you what they need to learn and do.
Becoming a counsellor is easy. You just need to fill out an application which the Boy Scouts of America will provide, and you need to complete a short online training session called “Youth Protection Training.” Once you have become a counsellor, you can have assistants help you with the program if you wish.
This will be a very rewarding experience; getting our youth involved in nature and conservation issues. Pelican Island Audubon Society is urging our members to participate in this very worthwhile program and become a counsellor.
If you would like to participate or if you have any questions, please contact Jane Schnee at (772) 589-3201 or email her at www.Sunwrent@aol.com.
