VERO BEACH — The Center for Spiritual Care is hosting a new Women’s Spirituality Book Group on the third Saturday of each month. The next scheduled meeting will be Nov. 17.
The group will meet from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Center for Spiritual Care located at 1550 24th St. in Vero Beach.
The Women’s Spirituality Book Group welcomes women from all walks of life, religions, and belief systems.
Jeanne Fournier, the group’s facilitator, defines women’s spirituality as a movement of women who are asking questions, exploring their “herstory,” getting clear about their beliefs, and finding their voices.
The first book to be discussed will be “When God Was a Woman” by Merline Stone and can be purchased on Amazon.
Other books that may be discussed at the Women’s Spirituality Book Group are: “The Chalice and the Blade: Our History, Our Future”
by Riane Eisler; “The Dance of the Dissident Daughter” by Sue Monk Kidd; and “Feminine Face of God: The Unfolding of the Sacred in Women” by Sherry Ruth Anderson and Patricia Hopkins.
