Opening concert of Symphonic Association’s twentieth season

VERO BEACH — The Indian River Symphonic Association will kick off its twentieth season of bringing great symphonic concerts to Vero Beach with a performance by the Brevard Symphony Orchestra on Nov. 18.

This will be the first of a series of seven concerts that will include the China National Symphony, the Naples Philharmonic, the Russian National Orchestra, and the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields.

For this first concert, Maestro Christopher Confessore will conduct the orchestra and violin soloist Karen Gomyo will perform the Romeo and Juliet Fantasy Overture.

Recipient of the prestigious Avery Fisher Career Grant in 2008, Ms. Gomyo has performed with the Cleveland Orchestra, the New York Philharmonic, the Los Angeles Philharmonic, and the Philadelphia Orchestra, to name just a few. Her instrument is a Stradivarius violin.

Pyotr Tchaikovsky Romeo and Juliet Fantasy Overture

Pyotr Tchaikovsky Capriccio Italien

Tickets are still available for the full season series, as well as for individual concerts.

All concerts will be presented at the Community Church of Vero Beach and will begin at 7:30 p.m.
