“Something’s Afoot” at Vero Beach High

VERO BEACH — The Vero Beach High School Drama department presents a full length musical mystery comedy “Something’s Afoot” on Saturday, Nov. 17, at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 18, at 2 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center, 1707 16th St. in Vero Beach.

With book, music, and lyrics by Robert Gerlach, Ed Linderman, James McDonald, David Vos, and special arrangement through Samuel French, the cast includes veterans Theo Blumstein, Ryan Fink, Megan Taylor Callahan, Sasha Sanchez, Sean Castro, Kimmy Zerega, and Patrick Schlitt, as well as newcomers to the stage Jacob Ashenback, Jackson Oberlink, and Taylor Beckmann.

This production is sponsored in part by Dr. Keith Kalish Podiatry.

A zany, entertaining show directed by Dee Rose Imbro, “Something’s Afoot” takes a satirical poke at Agatha Christie mysteries and musical styles of past years.

Ten people are stranded in an isolated English country house during a raging thunderstorm. One by one they’re picked off by cleverly fiendish devices. As the bodies pile up in the library, the survivors frantically race to uncover the identity and motivation of the cunning culprit.
