Matthew John Halpin, 77, died Nov. 11, 2012, at the Indian River Medical Center.
He was born in New York and lived in Vero Beach for 6½ years, coming from Plainview, N.Y.
He was a resident of the Lakes of Pointe West.
He worked for the IBM Corp. for more than 30 years.
He retired as a financial analyst and oversaw stock holders relations.
He was a parishioner of St. John of the Cross Catholic Church.
Survivors include his sons, John Halpin, Brian Halpin and Kevin Halpin; daughters, Ellen Halpin, Doreen Cass and Karen Murray; and 11 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Patricia Halpin; and sisters, Rosemary Glynn and Margaret Millard.
Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital , 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Nov. 13 at Cox Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home in Vero Beach.
A Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Nov. 14 at St. John of the Cross Catholic Church.
