Festival of Trees opens with a Holiday Cabaret

VERO BEACH — To mark the opening on Friday, Nov. 16, of the fifteenth annual Festival of Trees, Riverside Theatre is producing a Holiday Cabaret featuring two actors familiar to Riverside audiences.

Kathy St. George and Jimmy Ray Bennett return to the theatre to perform amide the holiday tree displays in the intimate Anne Morton Theatre.

Accompanied by music director Ken Clifton, the Holiday Cabaret will add a new facet to the Gala Preview Party that includes cocktails, a holiday kitchen buffet, and the opening of silent auction items that provide funding for the educational programs of Riverside Children’s Theatre.

With the tree lighting scheduled for 6:45 p.m., the cabaret will follow at 8:30 p.m.

St. George last appeared at Riverside in The Producers. She has appeared on Broadway in Fiddler On The Roof and in five national tours.

Bennett is a Riverside favorite, having appeared in Fully Committed, A Christmas Carol, and Celebration.

Party tickets are $150 per person. A junior ticket (35 and under) is available in advance at $75.

Please call (772) 234-8052 for gala tickets and reserve them early. A sell out is anticipated.

The Festival of Trees takes place in the Agnes Wahlstrom Youth Playhouse and Anne Morton Theatre, 3280 Riverside Park in Vero Beach.

It is the only annual fundraiser for Riverside Children’s Theatre, the educational arm of Riverside Theatre, Inc.
