First Baptist Church presents “Ring the Bells” concert Nov. 11

VERO BEACH — The 80-voice Treasure Coast Chorale and the 15-member Atlantic Ringers hand bell ensemble will present “Ring the Bells,” a unique joint concert on Sunday, Nov. 11, at 7 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Vero Beach.

The Chorale, under the direction of Michael Carter, Music Minister of the First Baptist Church, is celebrating its eleventh year as a community chorus of experienced voices singing four very popular concerts a season for Vero Beach audiences.

The Ringers are only two years old but are already recognized locally for the high quality of their musicianship.

“The Atlantic Ringers are excited to be performing with the TCC and hope this collaboration continues for years to come,” explained their conductor and founder, Ryan Kasten, Associate Director of Music/Organist of the Community Church.

“The two groups will perform separately and together bringing a brilliant blending of four-part harmony with the bright resonance of bells,” says Carter.

“The selected music will encompass works for church bells, freedom bells with a special recognition for Veteran’s day, and Christmas bells. For example, the audience will hear Joy in the Morning, Leroy Anderson’s Sleigh Ride, Let Freedom Ring, and Edgar Allen Poe’s poem ‘The Bells’ set to music.”

Also featured will be soloists from each group and musicians Judy Carter, Dave Mundy, Richie Mola, and Emilio Rutllant.

Held at the First Baptist Church at 2206 16th Ave. in Vero Beach, doors will open at 6 p.m. for the 7 p.m. evening performance.

There are no tickets and no admission charge, but the audience will be asked to give a generous offering to help offset the costs of this musical gift to the community.
