Environmental Learning Center golf tournament

WABASSO ISLAND — The Environmental Learning Center (ELC) is hosting its 20th Charity Golf Tournament on Friday, Nov. 16, at Bent Pine Golf Club in Vero Beach.

In keeping with the ELC’s environmental mission, the tournament theme is “Birds of a Feather Golf Together.”

Co-Chairpersons are Susan Friesell and Susie Kasten.

Included in the festivities are bird-themed games, contests, and prizes, as well as valuable raffle opportunities.

Bent Pine golf pro Pat Gorman set the format for the day as best ball of the foursome.

Check-in and lunch begin at 11 a.m. with a shotgun start at 12:30 p.m.

A “19th Hole” Cocktails and Awards Reception will be held at the conclusion of play.

The registration fee is $300 per player which includes cart fees, gourmet buffet lunch, automatic entry into the Lexus 2013 ES350 Hole-in-One contest, and a specially designed Tervis Tumbler.

Proceeds from the tournament are used to underwrite ELC’s educational programs.

The Environmental Learning Center is located north of Vero Beach off County Road 510 at the western end of the Wabasso Bridge. Its campus includes aquariums with marine life, touch tank, engaging exhibits, native plant gardens, picnic facilities, gift shop, and visitor center.

Admission to the ELC is $5 per person. Children under 12 and ELC members are free.

The first Saturday of every month is free for everyone.
