Dominic “Sonny” Schiavi, 79, died Oct. 25, 2012, at Indian River Medical Center, Vero Beach.
He was born in Yonkers, N.Y., and lived in Vero Beach for 22 years, coming from Westchester County, N.Y.
Before retirement, he worked for the Con Edison Co. of New York.
He served in the Army and was a veteran of the Korean War.
He attended St. Helen Catholic Church, Vero Beach, and served as an usher for 22 years.
Survivors include his daughters, Darleen Marie Grady of Hopewell Junction, N.Y., and Valerie Rose Colvin of Vero Beach; son, Michael James Schiavi of Melbourne; fiancee, Frannie Moffa of Vero Beach; sister, Ann “Nina” Sollecito of Yonkers, N.Y.; and two granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Loretta Cangelosi.
Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m., with a prayer service starting at 2 p.m. Nov. 3 at Cox Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home and Crematory, Vero Beach.
Entombment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Fort Pierce.
