Visit the Museum’s Pop Art Exhibition free for a ‘Can of Soup’

VERO BEACH — The Vero Beach Museum of Art is offering the opportunity to both give and receive this Thanksgiving.

As part of the Museum’s POP ART REVISITED exhibition and in celebration of the 50th Anniversary of Andy Warhol’s Campbell Soup Can paintings, visitors are being encouraged to bring in a can of soup (Campbell’s or another brand) in return for free daily admission on Wednesday, Oct. 31, November 7 and 14 only.

“We’re excited to be collaborating with the Vero Beach Museum of Art on this special project, which creatively brings awareness not only of the art exhibition, but helps to highlight others in our community who are working to bring structure back into their lives and return into society again.

Thanksgiving is a time for family and friends. This partnership comes at a key time when we need more support and canned goods donations. We expect the initiative to receive strong support, and look forward to working with the Museum on other partnerships in the future,” commented Cindy Hejlik, the Community Relations Coordinator for Harvest Food & Outreach Center.

The soup can project began with a generous donation of 600 cans of Campbell’s Tomato Soup from Publix Supermarkets, facilitated by Store Manager Greg Rogolino of the Miracle Mile store, which were utilized to construct a sculpture at the Museum’s entrance, designed and managed by Museum Art School Faculty Manager and Artist Sean Clinton, along with members of the Museum’s new teen after school program ArtLab.

These cans along with those donated will be given to the Harvest Food & Outreach Center.

Exhibitions on view for free Wednesday “soup days” include: POP ART REVISITED: A 21st Century Perspective; NORMAN ROCKWELL: Behind the Camera; LANDSCAPE PAINTINGS OF ADAM STRAUS; SELECTIONS FROM THE PERMANENT COLLECTION , and the Alice and Jim Beckwith Sculpture Parks.

The Museum is located at 3001 Riverside Park Dr. in Riverside Park, Vero Beach.

The Museum is open Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Sundays from 1-4:30 p.m.
