Lillian Hirsch Landers Schloss, 87, Vero Beach

Lillian Hirsch Landers Schloss, 87, died Oct. 24, 2012, at VNA Hospice, Vero Beach.

She was born in East Islip, N.Y., and lived in Vero Beach for 25 years, coming from Syosset, N.Y.

She received her master’s in education from Hofstra University, Long Island, N.Y.

She was a teacher in the Massapequa School District, Long Island, N.Y., for 25 years.

She was of the Jewish faith and a member of the Indian River Chapter of Hadassah.

She was a member of the Indian River Medical Auxiliary, of Vero Beach, the Friendship Club, the International Club, of Vero Beach, Widows and Widowers, of Vero Beach and she volunteered at Beachland Elementary School.

Survivors include her sons, Jonathan Landers, of Rye, N.H., Lance Landers, of New York City, Scott Landers, of San Diego; and two grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 25 years, Jerry.

A graveside service will be at noon Oct. 28 at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Fort Pierce.

Arrangements are by Aycock Funeral Home, Fort Pierce.
