VERO BEACH — Premier Cultural Concierge Service that helps visitors take part in events throughout the area will be offered by the Cultural Council of Indian River County beginning Nov. 1.
With more than 1,000 artistic and cultural events taking place annually in Vero Beach and Sebastian, this free service will provide individuals, visitors, and families with information and suggestions on cultural events that fit their special interests and then help create an individualized and custom designed experience for each participant.
As an added convenience, the Cultural Concierge will secure event tickets for a small service charge, or direct people to the producing venue to purchase them.
Even many long-time residents are unaware of the range of options available: opera, symphonies, literary events, professional theatre for adults and children, art festivals, and symposiums. Using a simple format, information about all these events is stored in the Concierge’s data bank ready for use.
There are several ways to contact the Cultural Concierge Service. Visitors can call (772) 770-4857; log onto www.Cultural-Council.org and click on Cultural Concierge; e-mail Cconcierge@Cultural-Council.org, or simply walk into the Cultural Council office at 2041 14th Ave. in downtown Vero Beach. The service can also be accessed through Facebook and Twitter.
Cultural Council Chairman Barbara Hoffman said the idea for an arts/cultural concierge service grew out of requests from residents and visitors.
“We heard many concerns about finding updated information on current and future activities, so we filled the void,” said Hoffman. “Arts matter and are a big business in this area employing close to 2,000 people. Making information easy to access benefits everyone.”
The Cultural Service operates much like a concierge service in a grand hotel but is dedicated solely to the arts. The service is staffed by well-trained, knowledgeable local residents who are constantly updated about new events and openings.
Visitors and residents can also get the latest information on area hotels and restaurants from the concierges.
The Concierge works in conjunction with both the Council’s Online Calendar which posts every cultural event by month and day, with a link to the producing venue for details, and the Council’s newly published Arts & Cultural Information Guide.
This compact and colorful reference booklet lists all of the organizations, members, and their events in a clear, easy reading format. Copies of the Art & Cultural Information Guide are available at the CCIRC’s office at 2041 14th Ave. in Vero Beach.
