GIFFORD — Youth and their parents are invited to attend “Youth Taking Charge” on Saturday, October 27, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Gifford Youth Activity Center, 4875 43rd Ave. in Vero Beach.
This free event will provide attendees with empowering educational opportunities to help them make positive choices during their lives.
“Giving our youth the tools they need to succeed and stay away from bad choices is what this event is all about,” said John May, Outreach Coordinator for Indian River County Health Department.
To encourage youth to participate in the events, sponsors are providing incentives that will be raffled off throughout the day, including a laptop, tablet, gift cards, flash drives, and a scholarship for Gifford Youth Activity Center.
Lunch will be provided as well as live entertainment.
“Come on out to have fun with us, and help our youth stand to make a difference,” added May, encouragingly, to youth and their parents.
