Elnora “Ms. Friday” McClinton, 88, Vero Beach

Elnora “Ms. Friday” McClinton, 88, died Oct. 21, 2012, at Indian River Memorial Center in Vero Beach.

She was born in Homeland, and lived in Indian River County for 63 years.

She was a retired substitute teacher in the Indian River County school system.

She was a member of Mount Sinai Missionary Baptist Church.

She was a member of the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary and the Eastern Star.

Survivors include her sons, Bernard McClinton Sr., of Gifford, and Henry McClinton, of Palm Bay; daughters, Patricia McClinton, of Gifford, and Olivia Sanders, of Miami; 13 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry McClinton Sr.; brothers, Edward Neice, Lorenzo Neice, Norman Hines, and Vixen Niece; sisters, Gladys Harvey, Minuette Reddick, Ida Mae McCray, Isadore Collins, and Florestine Myrick.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Oct. 26 at Stone Brothers Funeral Home and Chapel in Gifford.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Oct. 27 at Mount Sinai Missionary Baptist Church.

Burial will follow at Gifford Cemetery.
