Jazz concerts return to the Emerson Center

VERO BEACH — The Emerson Center is proud to announce a trilogy of jazz concerts performed by the Space Coast Jazz Orchestra, back again this season by popular demand.

The first of the three-part series will be held on Sunday, October 28, at 2:30 p.m. Entitled Special Request, feel free to sit back and enjoy your favorites.

They have taken your requests and put together an enthralling and engaging concert featuring the music of Basie, Ellington, Rich, Kenton, Parker, and more. This thrilling program will have your heart racing and your feet tapping.

A Jazz Christmas will be performed on Saturday, December 8, at 4 p.m. This concert will feature everyone’s favorite Christmas music as recorded by some of the world’s best big bands, both old and new.

The series concludes on Sunday, March 1, 2013, at 2:30 p.m. with From the Flat Screen to the Silver Screen featuring some of the most recognizable music from TV and the movies, all in jazz settings.

Advance tickets of $20 for each performance may be purchased online at www.TheEmersonCenter.org or by calling the Box Office at (772) 778-5249.

Tickets at the door are an additional $5. Students 18 years of age and under (with identification) are admitted free.

The Emerson Center, at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Vero Beach, is conveniently located at 1590 27th Ave. on the SE corner of 16th St. and 27th Ave., has more than 300 parking spaces, an auditorium that seats over 800 people in comfortable padded seating, a raised stage that offers everyone unrestricted views, and professional state-of-the-art sound and lighting systems.
