Cody W. Slechta, 17, died Oct. 21, 2012, at St. Mary’s Medical Center, West Palm Beach.
He was born in Vero Beach. He was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman.
Survivors include mother, Laurie Powell Slechta, of Vero Beach; father, Scott Slechta, of Palm Bay; brothers, Daniel Powell, of Farmington, Minn., and Josh Donaldson and Scott Slechta Jr., both of Vero Beach; sisters, Nicole Adams, of Enterprise, Ala. and Tiffani Slechta, of Islamorada; paternal grandfather, Edward Slechta Sr.; and maternal grandparents, Frankie and Louise Powell, of Harvery, N.D.
A memorial service will be at 5 p.m. Oct. 24, 2012, at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Vero Beach.
An additional memorial service will be at a later date.
Arrangements are by Cox-Gifford-Seawinds Funeral Home in Vero Beach.
