Edward Peter Gottschalk, 84, died Oct. 14, 2012, in Sebastian.
He was born in Bridgeport, Conn., where he lived until he retired to Florida in 1990.
He worked at Textron (Avco) in Stratford, Conn., for 30 years as a plumber and steam fitter.
He served in the Navy as a seaman and was stationed in Shanghai, China, aboard the USS Samar ARG-II during World War II.
He was a member of the Sebastian River Moose Lodge and the Fraternal Order of Orioles.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Rita B. Budjinsky; son, Edward M. Gottschalk; and two grandchildren.
Visitation will be at 10 a.m. until the funeral at 11 a.m. Oct. 19 at Fountainhead Funeral Home, Palm Bay.
