Joseph Donald Dempsey II, 56, of Vero Beach died Oct. 11, 2012, at Lawnwood Regional Medical Center in Fort Pierce.
He was born in Saugus, Mass., and lived in Vero Beach for 13 years, coming from Lynn, Mass. Mr. Dempsey, a certified contractor, was the owner and operator of Dempsey & Sons Construction Inc., Vero Beach, since 2003.
He was a member of Central Assembly of God, Vero Beach.
Survivors included his wife of 12 years, Sue C. Dempsey; sons, Joseph D. Dempsey III, of South Boston, Jarret D. Dempsey, of Vero Beach and Joshua D. Dempsey, of Stuart; daughter, Rebekah E. Dempsey, of Stuart; sisters, Carol Ann Pass Ball, of New Castle, N.H., and Joann Dempsey McGovern, of Haverhill, Mass.; brothers, Gerald Pass, of Manchester, N.H., Michael P. Dempsey, of Port St. Lucie and Sean T. Dempsey, of Sterling, Mass.; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph D. Dempsey; and mother, Norma Clark Wallace.
Memorial contributions may be made to Central Assembly Building Fund, 6767 20th St., Vero Beach, FL 32966, in memory of Joe.
A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Oct. 20 at Central Assembly of God, with Senior Pastor Buddy Tipton officiating.
