Richard “Jack” Vasbinder, 92, died Oct. 8, 2012.
He was born in Aberdeen, Wash., and lived in Vero Beach for 29 years, coming from Michigan.
He served in the Air Force.
He attended Henry Ford Community College and Detroit Time Study and Engineering School.
He worked at Ford Motor Co., Tractor Division, in Romeo, Mich., until 1983 when he retired.
He was a member of Masonic Lodge 464 in Royal Oak, Mich. and Lodge 250 in Vero Beach.
He was a caddie for The Ryder Cup Team in the challenge match in 1940.
He worked part-time at Oakland Hills Country Club in Bloomfield Hills, Mich.
He belonged to the Shrine Amara Temple in Palm Beach Gardens.
He was an active participant in fundraisers and helping secure applicants for Children’s Hospital.
He was a member at Dodger Pines Golf Club in Vero Beach.
Survivors include his daughter, Susan A. Vasbinder, of Los Altos, Calif.; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marian; and daughter, Beverly Sprague.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Oct. 13 at First Presbyterian Church in Vero Beach.
