Donald Fredrick Sonia, 82, died Oct. 6, 2012, at Indian River Medical Center in Vero Beach.
He was born in Lynn, Mass., and lived in Vero Beach for 23 years, coming from Willingboro, N.J.
He was a masters swimming coach at Indian River Community College in 2000 and coached at St. Edward’s School from 1991 to 1999.
He was a recipient of ASCA Hall of Fame in 2012.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Florence Sonia; and daughter, Jane Sonia, both of Vero Beach; and two grandchildren.
Services to be decided at a later date.
Arrangements are by All County Funeral Home & Crematory, Treasure Coast Chapel.
