James V. McIntyre, 88, died Oct. 6, 2012, at Indian River Medical Center, Vero Beach.
He was born in Pittsburgh and lived in Vero Beach for 25 years, coming from his birthplace.
He retired after 30 years from General Motors, Truck and Coach Division.
He was a Navy veteran, serving during World War II.
He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, Vero Beach.
He volunteered with the Visiting Nurses Association, Boy Scouts and the St. Helen Harvest Festival.
Survivors include his daughter, Jan Zarallo; son, John McIntyre; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth McIntyre in 2002.

A memorial Mass will be at 10 a.m. Oct. 11 at Holy Cross Catholic Church.
