VERO BEACH — Radio personality Neal Stannard, who passed away August 18, was known locally for his radio and theatre work and as a film and literary critic. He could also be found frequently in UU pulpits around Florida.
Stannard was scheduled to speak at 10 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 7, at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Vero Beach, on the topic: “If God Had Meant For Us to Vote He Would Have Given Us Candidates.”
Written by Stannard, the sermon will be presented as scheduled – a final tribute to this unusually gifted man, presented by UUFVB Worship chair Pete Kersey, who has also been involved in radio and theatre locally. The service will include Stannard’s favorite music and readings.
Children’s religious education and childcare are available. Coffee and conversation follow the service, and the Fair Trade Corner will be open before and afterward.
The UUFVB has easy parking, is handicapped-accessible and is located on the southeast corner of 27th Avenue and 16th Street. Further information may be obtained by calling 772-778-5880 or via email at info@uufvb.org.
