James Paul Gillie, 53, died Sept. 27, 2012, at Lawnwood Regional Medical Center & Heart Institute in Fort Pierce.
He was born in Indianapolis, Ind., and lived in Vero Beach for 48 years, coming from Indiana.
He was employed as a Disney Live sound engineer and with RCA at Ascension Island.
Survivors include his son, James C. Gillie, of Huntsville, Texas; mother, Elizabeth Ann Gillie-Ebanks; stepfather, Sam Ebanks, of Alto, N.M.; and one grandchild.
He was predeceased by his grandmother, Bertha Haley; father, James H. Gillie; and stepfather, Charles M. Faulkner.
Memorial services were held Sept. 28.
