Chester C. “Chet” Pruszynski, 94, Sebastian

Chester C. “Chet” Pruszynski, 94, died Sept. 25, 2012, at Sebastian River Medical Center in Sebastian.

He was born in New York City, and lived in Sebastian for 21 years, coming from Hamilton, Mass.

He was an Army veteran, serving 322nd Fighter Control Squadron “Flying Tigers.”

He worked as an engineer with Varian Associates in Beverly, Mass., retiring after 20 years of service.

He was a member of VFW Post 10210 in Sebastian, and VFW Post 8164 and American Legion Post 0194 in Hamilton, Mass.

He also was a member of the 14th Air Force Association “Flying Tigers.”

Survivors include his daughter, Janet Johnson, of Pawcatuck, Conn.; one grandchild; and four step-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Henrietta; daughter, Helene Pruszynski; and son, Chester A. “Chet” Pruszynski.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Helene Pruszynski Memorial Scholarship Fund at Hamilton-Whenham High School, 775 Bay Road, South Hamilton, MA, 01982.

At the request of the family, services will be private.
