Missing woman suspected to be in groves found in Fellsmere

FELLSMERE — The missing woman has been found in Fellsmere off Babcock Street according to Jeff Luther, Sheriff’s Office spokesman. She is now being transported for treatment.


Sept. 21, 6:37 a.m.

FELLSMERE — According to Brian Burkeen, of Indian River County Fire Rescue, the woman has not been found yet. The search party was planning on meeting again this morning. Yesterday the mission woman’s husband reported her missing at 5:30 p.m.


Sept. 20, 10:37 a.m.

FELLSMERE — Indian River County Sheriff’s deputies are searching for a woman with a heart condition whom they believe may be lost in a heavily wooded area around 109th Street and Park Lateral roads, according to a Sheriff’s Office dispatcher.

The woman’s husband called the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office at 5:30 p.m. to say his wife, Jennifer Flanagan was missing. The woman’s car was located but as of 10:15 p.m. — nearly five hours after the alert was sent out — she has yet to be found.

Deputies have been scouring the northwest area of Fellsmere, which is in the county, with the department’s K-9 team as well as helicopter patrol.

Flanagan is 32-years-old and considered to be severely diabetic.

Anyone with information on Flanagan’s whereabouts is urged to call the 911.
