Bank of America supports IR Habitat with $3,000 donation

VERO BEACH — The check, which Bank of America Banking Center Manager Jim McDonough presented to Indian River Habitat for Humanity, had extra special meaning because one of the bank’s most highly regarded employees will soon begin work on her own Habitat home.

McDonough and Assistant Manager April Lesperance joined Habitat CEO Andy Bowler and grant coordinator Robin Benjouali at Habitat’s Burnham Center offices on Aug. 30.

Also present was BOA teller Jessica Rivera and her daughters, Mariah, 13, and Dalylah, 5. Jessica has completed her Sweat Equity requirement and is looking forward, with great anticipation, to the start of construction on her own Habitat home.

“The Bank of America Charitable Foundation is dedicated to providing opportunity for all in its commitment to our communities. Providing support to organizations like Habitat for Humanity, which provides opportunity and improves the quality of life in our community, is key to our strategy to build capacities that truly make a difference.  Thank you for your valuable work,”said McDonough when presenting the $3,000 check.

The bank expects to gather a team of employees to join Jessica on the jobsite when her home construction gets under way around the first of October.
