IRMC celebrates building progress at Topping Out Party

VERO BEACH — More than 200 people attended IRMC’s Topping Out Party on Aug. 15 to celebrate the progress on its Sheridan Intensive Care Unit and Waxlax Recovery Room.

Attendees were able to sign an artist’s rendering of the project that will become a part of the permanent structure, “build” their own cupcakes with fun toppings, and see the raising of a tree; a tradition on large projects when the last floor of a tall building is poured.

Donations to the Indian River Medical Center Foundation are providing the funding for the $15 million project, the third phase of a master facility plan expansion at the medical center.

It is expected to open in early 2013.
