VERO BEACH — The Humane Society of Vero Beach and Indian River County’s Animal Wellness Clinic announced that it is now taking appointments for pet wellness exams, vaccinations, and spay/neuter surgeries on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
“Our goal is to make preventative care for animals affordable and accessible,” said Maria Ramirez, the shelter’s Director of Animal Care.
Since the clinic opened in January 2012, it’s offered services to the community two days each week. But over the last few months, the shelter has seen a need to increase its hours.
The goals of the shelter’s Animal Wellness Clinic include improving pet healthcare across the Treasure Coast, increasing animal health education, and reducing the number of animals turned in to shelters due to medical issues.
Clinic services are available to anyone with pets, regardless of residence or income.
The Animal Wellness Clinic also has special programs in place to help individuals on public assistance.
The Humane Society’s Animal Wellness Clinic is located at 6230 77th St., Vero Beach. Appointments are required and can be made by calling (772) 388-0801.
The Humane Society of Vero Beach and Indian River County is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping and protecting the animals of Indian River County.
