James “Terry” Ruwe, 61, Vero Beach

James “Terry” Ruwe, 61, died Aug. 26, 2012, at Hospice House.

He was born in Biloxi, Miss., grew up in Riverside, Calif.; moved his family to Maine in 1979, and lived in Vero Beach since 2002.

He was a graduate of California State Polytechnic University in Pomona, Calif.

He was a lobsterman in Maine during the summer, scallop diver in winter and a jack-of-all-trades in the offseason.

He was self-employed as a handyman and also worked for Huryn Construction.

He supported his wife as a volunteer at the American Red Cross when needed.

Survivors include his wife of 11 years, Sarah; sons, Matt, Joe and Ben; two stepdaughters; one stepson; and nine grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Gladys Ruwe.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross, 2506 17th Ave., Vero Beach, FL 32960.

A memorial service will be private.

Arrangements are by Cox Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home and Crematory in Vero Beach.
