David Michael Hand, 60, died Aug. 17, 2012, at the VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach.
He was born in Elberton, Ga., and lived in Sebastian for two years, coming from Melbourne.
Before retirement he was a police officer in the Melbourne Police Department.
Survivors include his daughters, Emily Kuss, of Minnesota and Erin Toro, of Florida; brother, Rowland Hand, of Florida; sister, Coral; and three grandchildren.
A private memorial service was conducted Aug. 22.
Arrangements are by Seawinds Funeral Home and Crematory in Sebastian.
