To the Indian River County School District:
What a wonderful welcome to the school year!!! My children’s bus never showed up.
We were told during Orientation that there was a computer glitch and the bus route didn’t upload or print out properly.
After numerous phone calls by my husband and other parents we were told that due to budget cuts we no longer had busing.
We live just over a mile from school and I have 3 children ages 10 and under. The route to elementary school is very busy during the day.
I can’t leave work to pick my kids up. My husband is self employed and now has to stop working a hour earlier to make sure the kids are picked up from school early to pick up our children from school.
That delays his jobs being completed by 5 hours per week! That’s money lost for our family.
It is obvious our children (as a community) aren’t really a concern. Dollars are.
